Scotland's World Cup chances still alive says Wigan captain Caldwell

Gary Caldwell is of the belief that Scotland still has a slight chance to progress to the finals of the 2014 World Cup.

The Scots sit at the foot of Group A with just two points from four outings but with vital fixtures against Wales and Serbia in March, Wigan Athletic skipper Caldwell has confidence of getting the required results to get the campaign back on track under new manager Gordon Strachan.

"You look at the next three games before the end of the season and you would realistically have to win all of them," he said.

"If you did that, you would be right back in the group.

"I don't think the manager or the players will count out qualification just yet while it's still possible."
