Scotland's Strachan now has quality attackers to choose from - Everton's Naismith

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan now has a plethora of top quality forwards to choose from according to Everton's Steven Naismith.

The former Rangers ace was in Scotland this week to launch the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award and was glowing in his appraisal of the current crop of attackers available to Strachan.

Naismith has been in fairly solid form for the Toffees this campaign and is hoping that he can push himself into Strachan's roster for upcoming Euro2016 qualifiers to battle it out with some of Scotland's finest.

"I've had a better season with Everton than I would have thought possible at one stage," he told reporters.

"And it's come at the right time for me to make a good impression on the manager.

"The competition for places in the national squad is becoming more intense.

"There's (Leeds United captain) Ross McCormack, (Celtic signing) Leigh Griffiths, (Blackburn Rovers ace) Jordan Rhodes and myself up front.

"And I think Kris Boyd is definitely back in the frame as well because of what he's been doing at Kilmarnock."
