Scotland boss Burley urges Coyle to stick with Burnley

Scotland boss George Burley expects Owen Coyle to resist interest from Celtic and stay with Premiership new-boys Burnley.

Burley said: "I was at Wembley on Monday and Owen Coyle has done a magnificent job at Burnley.

"To get into the Premiership is a great achievement. In that scenario it would be very difficult to leave Burnley.

"But that will be up to Celtic and the people in question.

"I sent a message to Owen today to congratulate him on what he has done. His team has played tremendously well all season.

"I've seen Burnley more than a few times and been very impressed.

"I had the same scenario with Ipswich in 2000, winning at Wembley, and I know what Owen is feeling just now.

"He will be really looking forward to pitting his wits in the Premiership."
