Scotland ace Miller determined to get things right with Vancouver Whitecaps

Kenny Miller knows it has taken him a wee while to settle into MLS life with Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Scotland international striker has scored just two goals in nine outings for his new club since joining from Cardiff City in July and he is now ready to adjust his game to his new surroundings and be a regular on the scoresheet as the 'Caps chase a playoffs berth.

"Ideally, you want to come and hit the ground running a lot quicker than I have, but the timing, coming in mid-season, it's a new style of football, it's a different country and you've got to come and get settled, there's a lot of things," he told The Province.

"There's no excuse to be honest. I wanted to come and hit the ground running and, unfortunately, it's not quite went that way, but I feel that I'm pretty much where I'd expect to be at the moment and hopefully I can build on [Sunday's] second-half performance and take that into [this] week."

Miller scored his second goal for the club in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Colorado Rapids and is now preparing for the weekend's Cascadia Cup clash with Interstate 5 rivals Seattle Sounders.
