Manchester United's legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel hopes his former club retain their interest in Harry Maguire, comparing the Leicester City centre-back to Steve Bruce.
Schmeichel won three Premier League titles playing behind Bruce at Old Trafford. The now Aston Villa manager was often underrated but was essential to United's success with his courageous and disciplined performances.
United attempted to sign Maguire in the summer, and Schmeichel has recommended that they keep up their pursuit of the 25-year-old.
The Dane told beIN Sports: "I think Jose is right about the centre-half, and I also think he was right with the name that came up in Harry Maguire.
"I think he would really suit that team.
"Hopefully, eventually, at some point, Harry Maguire will find himself in a red shirt. He's a modern day Steve Bruce!"
