Former Inter Milan winger Ezequiel Schelotto claims to be in negotiations for a move to Leicester.

Schelotto is currently a free agent after leaving Inter following the termination of his contract with them in August.

Leicester's Italian boss Claudio Ranieri recently played down talk of the Foxes signing the 26-year-old, calling it "speculation".

But on Wednesday the player was quoted as telling La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I'd like to play there and I'm ready to get back into action.

"I don't know what stage the negotiations are at with Leicester, but if (former Foxes and Argentina midfielder Esteban) Cambiasso can do well there, then I'm sure I can too.

"I would never have imagined I'd find myself without a club at the age of 26. Now I'm waiting for a gift - a new club."
