Schalke hero Youri Mulder says Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold is the best of his type in the world.
Mulder was commenting after the England international's goalscoring performance in victory at Leicester City on Thursday night.
Alexander-Arnold was superb on the evening, scoring once and also producing two assists during the 4-0 rout. And Reds manager Jurgen Klopp again turned to the England international for last night's 1-0 over Wolves, despite the short turnaround.
But it was the performance against Leicester on Boxing Day which had Alexander-Arnold being celebrated around the world, including in Holland.
Mulder was acting as a pundit for Ziggo Sport on the night and was in awe of the Liverpool youngster's performance.
He said via Voetbalzone: "I like him better than (Kyle) Walker. And I like him better than (Joshua) Kimmich and (Benjamin) Pavard, if they play as right back.
"He has athletic ability and a fantastic shot; he takes all the corners and free kicks. For attacking players, he is a wonderful player to have him behind you.
"If he has the ball, it is important for an attacker to run free. You can be sure that the ball will come."
Mulder is a former Belgian striker who spent over nine years with Schalke before also twice acting as caretaker manager and as assistant coach with the Bundesliga giants. Mulder, before moving to Schalke, also had three years in the Eredivisie with FC Twente.
