Schalke have confirmed David Wagner will stay on as the club's manager.

The Bundesliga club dovetailed dramatically after the competition's return from the coronavirus lockdown.

The club's head of sport Jochen Schneider told reporters: "On the pitch, things have been really poor recently, there's no doubt about that. We're looking at the situation neutrally, with a clear head. We can't get carried away anymore.

"We played attractive football when we had the majority of our squad available to us, so we will carry on with the current coaching team. I have a lot trust in them."
