Tottenham are believed to be showing significant interest in Benedikt Howedes.
The Daily Mirror reports that Spurs are eyeing the Schalke defender who is being valued at £13million.
The Germany international, who was an integral part of Joachim Low's World Cup-winning side, is comfortable in central defence or at right-back and would be a massive coup for Tottenham.
Howedes has two years remaining on his contract at Schalke where he has been since 2001.
