Sassuolo coach De Zerbi frustrated after Udinese stalemate

Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi admitted frustration after their 0-0 draw with Udinese on Friday.

Sassuolo missed out on taking the Serie A leadership after missing the win.

“Every game is different and I do have regrets, because we didn't have as many scoring opportunities as usual," the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“At the same time, I am happy because we put in a mature performance, avoided any dangerous counter-attacks and allowed Udinese practically nothing dangerous.

“We will encounter more fixtures like this in future and we must have the same attitude, working on the details, because we did have a tendency to dominate games and lose them on the counter-attack.

“We could do more in the final third, but I can't ask these lads for more. I did consider with my staff whether we could break the deadlock in these matches by introducing a tall centre-forward, but our identity is all about playing the ball to feet and passing, so it wouldn't make the most of our characteristics.

“While it is important we find different and unpredictable ways to attack, our players are all suited to short passing."
