Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri was delighted with his players after victory over Fiorentina.
Lazio trounced the Viola 4-0 on Monday night.
Sarri said: "We both came from the European match and we did well to take advantage of their downturn moment, there is satisfaction for the victory on a difficult field, but we have to do a marathon and we have just done 7-8 kilometres.
"Fiorentina are a difficult team, first in all the offensive rankings. They are a team that attacks with many men and once in the lead it was normal to wait for them to be lower, conceding numerical parity."
Asked about his time with Lazio, Sarri added: "The people of Lazio were a surprise, it gets inside your skin after some time. I found the desire to train in this environment. It is I who thank them."
