Watford got a confidence boosting with over Coventry on Tuesday night to secure their place in the Carabao Cup third-round.
The Hornets have zero points from three Premier League games, but they were able to bounce back with a 3-0 victory over the Sky Blues.
Record-signing Ismalia Sarr scored his first goal for the club, while Daryl Janmaat and Adalberto Penaranda also got on the scoresheet.
Speaking after the game, Watford boss Javi Gracia said: "It is important to have a game like tonight, to compete well and feel a good connection.
"Now we prepare for a new challenge."
