Adam Sarota was thrilled to have committed himself to FC Utrecht late last week.
The 24-year old Australian midfielder, who joined the Dutch club from Brisbane Roar in 2010, has penned a deal which will keep him at the Stadion Galgenwaard until the summer of 2017.
Sarota has been busy getting back to full fitness following a knee injury but Utrecht general manager Wilco van Schaik was delighted to have secured his services.
"We wanted to give Adam the rest to work on his recovery," read a translated excerpt from the club's official website.
"By now to extend the contract he can fully focus on his rehabilitation. Capturing a player base as Sarota is a sporty investment of the club.
"With his mentality and football skills he fits well with the club. Moreover, he is one of our internationals we are proud of."
