Santos president Jose Carlos Peres is adamant Rodrygo Goes will be a success with Real Madrid.

Peres oversaw the sale of Rodrygo last year to Real and is delighted to see the attacker making an impact earlier than expected.

He told AS: "Yes (he's doing well), but he will still give more. He has already shown that he has a good level to be important in Madrid.

"He is a humble boy and in Brazil he has everyone following him.

"We were very excited about his first goal against Bayern Munich in the summer. Then he scored other goals and we are very excited to see him there.

"I've been with Rodrygo since I arrived at Santos. He was very young and attracted attention for his dribbling ability and reading the game. Although his decision power is evident, one of the qualities we enjoy most is his willingness to improve his techniques. This guy really is a genius!"
