San Jose Earthquakes youngster Koval to gain education from US internationals

JJ Koval is looking forward to learning from the best as he continues his development with the San Jose Earthquakes.

The number nine overall selection in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft was officially signed by the Quakes this week and says that he is loving working in a professional environment with such players as USA internationals Chris Wondolowski and Clarence Goodson.

"It was a pleasure playing with both Clarence and Wondo," Koval said in relation to a recent preseason meeting with the Houston Dynamo.

"They're very good players, and it was cool to be out there. I know I'm going to learn a lot from them."

The former Stanford University midfield star added: "I feel like things have been going pretty well, and I want to help the team in any way possible.

"I'm pushing as hard as I can to be on the field, because I want to contribute as much as I can. I'm taking every day as a day to get better."
