Sampdoria centre-back Joachim Andersen has become the latest defensive target for Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
United are expected to appease Mourinho in January by signing reinforcements for his defence.
'The Special One' publicly stated his desire for a centre-back in the summer, but the club missed out targets such as Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld.
The same names have creeped up as January draws closer and so have new ones, including Fiorentina's Nikola Milenkovic and Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan.
According to Italian newspaper La Republicca, Andersen has now been added to United's shortlist.
The 22-year-old has been a revelation for the Serie A club, having started all 11 league matches.
Andersen would cost United less than the likes of Maguire or Skriniar, however, it is reported that Sampdoria would not accept anything less than £30m for the Dane.
