Sampdoria owner Massimo Ferrero insists he'll buy in January.

Ferrero says he'll spend, despite coming close to selling up this season.

He told a fan on social media, "Thanks for your support. The fact that the fans insult me is part of the game," he wrote.

"And I'm the lesser evil. I would like to reassure and comfort you all that we'll leave this difficult period.

"There'll be an opening to intervene on the market in January and I'll take care of it. Forza Samp."
