Sampdoria midfielder Albin Ekdal says Zlatan Ibrahimovic was in good spirits on Monday.

Ibrahimovic came off the bench in his first game back for AC Milan in their 0-0 draw.

“It's been a long time," fellow Swede Ekdal told Aftonbladet.

“We played together for the national team and our bond grew tighter with every match we played.

“It was cool to see him again; he was in a good mood."

Ekdal added: “It was an important point.

“But it could have been three, if we had taken one of our giant chances."
