Sampdoria are counting on a tidy windfall from Sporting CP's sale of Bruno Fernandes.
Sporting are in advanced talks with Manchester City over the midfielder's departure with a fee in the region of €55m being mentioned.
Sporting originally signed Fernandes from Sampdoria in a deal which included a 10 per cent sell-on clause.
Samp sold Fernandes to the Lisbon giants for €8.5m plus €500,000 in bonuses.
Should Fernandes be sold for the fee mooted, Samp will be due a tidy €5.5m from the transfer.
