Sampdoria coach Giampaolo hails his players for Napoli rout

Sampdoria coach Marco Giampaolo was delighted with their 3-0 rout of Napoli.

Giampaolo believes “if Cristiano Ronaldo had scored Fabio Quagliarella's goal, everyone would talk about it."

The Blucerchiati ran riot at Marassi with a Gregoire Defrel brace and Quagliarella's stunning back-heel flick.

“It was a wonderful evening, because to beat Napoli you need to put in a great performance and be fortunate in some incidents," the Coach told Radio Rai.

“I don't even know how good my team is, because some players are still in precarious physical condition. We made up for the unlucky defeat to Udinese and showed we could both attack and soak up pressure.

“The squad was unduly criticised after that loss in Udine. Defrel was extraordinary when attacking the space, while if Cristiano Ronaldo had scored Quagliarella's goal, everyone would talk about it."
