Sampdoria sports chief Beppe Marotta has revealed they're keen on Roma striker Vincenzo Montella.

"The return to Sampdoria of Montella would be a great coup," said Marotta. "But for that to happen, we must find an answer to the financial dilemma, as his wages are out of range for our budget.

"But he would be the ideal signing."

Marotta also revealed: "We've also spoken with Roma about Mirko Vucinic. But they won't consider making him available - not for sale, nor on-loan."
