Sampdoria boss Marco Giampaolo is delighted with the way they finished the season.
The Blucerchiati beat champions Juventus 2-0 on Sunday to finish ninth on the table.
Giampaolo said, “Beating Juve is always satisfying. We gave our fans something to shout about, and we put the icing on a good season.
“We tried to raise the bar today as we were motivated to beat Juve. We had a good season, but perhaps we got some key matches wrong. I'm proud of my players and I want to congratulate them for a good performance.
“Fabio Quagliarella has won the title of Capocannoniere [top goalscorer], and I probably should have managed his time on the pitch a little better as I played him almost every game, but I couldn't take away his opportunity to score goals.
“I'll meet the President tomorrow to talk about my future. I've already had a chat with sporting director Carlo Osti, but I still don't know the likelihood of me staying here."
