Sampdoria and Sporting CP are doing battle over Bruno Fernandes' move to Manchester United.
Fernandes moved to Sporting from Samp before being sold to United in January.
Il Secolo XIX says Samp are insisting Sporting owe them 10 per cent from Fernandes' €46.5m fee as part of the player's original sale.
However, Sporting have so far refused to pay the first of three previously agreed installments.
Sporting argue the termination of Fernandes' contract in the summer of 2018 and the new contract signed made the clauses in the previous deal null and void.
Samp have now taken their case to FIFA.
