Salvatore Bocchetti named new coach of Hellas Verona

Salvatore Bocchetti has been named new coach of Hellas Verona.

Bocchetti replaces Gabriele Cioffi after his sacking this week.

Hellas Verona announced today:

"Hellas Verona FC announces that it has entrusted the technical management of the First Team to Mr. Salvatore Bocchetti.

"Born in Naples on 30 November 1986, Bocchetti ended his long career as a footballer in 2021, during which he played for nine years in the Russian league - first wearing the shirts of Rubin Kazan and then of Spartak Moscow - and in Italy, in the championships of Serie A and Serie B playing with Lanciano, Ascoli, Frosinone, Genoa, Milan, Verona and Pescara.

"After his career as a footballer, last season he collaborated with coach Igor Tudor at the helm of the yellow-blue First Team, ending the 2021/22 Serie A championship in ninth place in the standings with 53 points.

"In the current season, Bocchetti continued his path with Hellas Verona, coaching the Primavera team in this start of the championship, with which he has so far scored seven points, the result of one victory, four draws and two defeats.

"The Club gives Mr. Salvatore Bocchetti a warm welcome and wishes him good work."
