Manchester United fullback George Tanner is moving to Salford City on loan.
The 20-year old has been recalled from a loan spell at Morecambe and was wanted by Championship strugglers Wigan Athletic.
However, ambitious Salford have stepped in and Tanner, who originally started his career as a forward, is due to link up with the League Two side until the end of the season, says the Daily Mail.
Salford City, managed by Graham Alexander, are 13th in the table, 11 points off the play off positions.
Tanner's clubmate Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has been offered a spell on loan at League Two Oldham Athletic where he has been training.
