French World Cup winner Willy Sagnol has slammed LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Ibrahimovic attacked France coach Didier Deschamps over his World Cup snub for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

But Sagnol hit back, stating: "Should Didier have taken Benzema or not, everyone has his opinion on it.

"Zlatan has the right to give his opinion, but when he says that Deschamps should not be there ... I think that if we compare the results of Deschamps with that of Zlatan, for once he's not the big winner.

"I think that he had some crude words, on a subject that, strictly speaking, should not even interest him."
