Tottenham are moving for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

L'Equipe says Tottenham have made an offer for Soumare.

The 20-year-old has admirers across Europe, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Valencia all linked with a move.

But Spurs are ready to steal a march on their rivals having made a move for the Frenchman.

Spurs may hold a slight advantage in tempting the youngster away from Lille considering Jose Mourinho's assistant, Joao Sacramento, worked with him when he was a coach at the French club.

Soumare stated earlier this week: "I feel good, my team-mates are helping me. I know where I am today and that suits me.

"It is not time to leave – I don't want to leave with regrets."
