Alaves have sacked coach Pablo Machin.

Machin's dismissal was confirmed on Tuesday morning with Alaves two places above relegation and with a two-point margin from the dropzone.

His departure comes after the defeat at the hands of Cádiz and after a streak of three games without a win. After assuming the post on August 5, the coach from Soria achieved four victories, six draws and eight defeats in 18 games.

Alaves reserves coach Javier Cabello is taking training today.

Along with Machin, assistant coach Jordi Balcells also follows him out the door.
