Hernan Crespo is being linked with Elche after the dismissal of Fran Escriba last night.

After defeat at Real Betis, Escriba confirmed in the post-match presser that club owner Christian Bragarnik has told him he was fired.

He said, "Bragarnik has informed me of my dismissal. Last year we got something nice and nobody takes that away from me. You can buy a club, but not the affection of the people.

"People will forget these bad moments and remember the five seasons so long and beautiful that we spent together. I will be a partner of Elche and I will always wish them the best."

Crespo is being linked with Elche after leaving Sao Paulo recently.
