Sacked Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer is again being urged to rebuild his career at home in Holland.

De Boer, after leaving Inter Milan, has lasted only a matter of months in jobs at Inter Milan and Palace.

Former PSV Eindhoven and Manchester City goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus has urged his countryman to return to the Eredivisie.

"Frank de Boer has his own vision, but that vision makes him look foolish abroad," Waterreus told Ziggo Sport. "But I also understand that Frank de Boer will not train Heerenveen. I really understand that.

"It's a pity. I prefer that he is a trainer in the Eredivisie than he does nothing. But of course it's his right not to do so."
