Sacchi: I warned Sarri against taking Juventus job

Italian coaching great Arrigo Sacchi says Maurizio Sarri should never have taken the Juventus job.

Sarri was sacked and replaced by Andrea Pirlo despite leading Juve to the title.

“I told him straight away that this was suicide, because there was no way those players could be suited to his style of football," said Sacchi.

“He was also unlucky to get pneumonia in pre-season, which further limited his ability to really get his tactics honed during those intensive training weeks."

Sacchi also admits he's a fan of Atalanta.

“I told Gian Piero Gasperini that he has only two things against him: the Champions League commitments that will make him lose points and potential arrogance.

Atalanta have to keep going as they have done so far. Winning the Scudetto in Bergamo would be a miracle, even with everything he has already done."
