Ryan determined to repay Brighton supporters against Man City

Mathew Ryan wants to repay Brighton supporters by influencing the outcome of the Premier League title race.

If Liverpool beat Wolves, the Seagulls can deny Manchester City a second straight championship if they can draw or win against Pep Guardiola's side at the AMEX on Sunday.

And Ryan would love to thank his supporters by putting in a fine display against City.

He said: "Every time we pull in that shirt, it is out of respect to them.

"There have been quite a lot of tough days recently.

"They probably sit there and question things with the results and performances we have given them. It's not through lack of trying.

"If you were able to dissect and find the reasons for why the performances aren't happening, you are going to be a coach of a big team.

"The fans have always been supportive of us.

"They are never on our backs, which makes them such great fans.

"It's understandable that they get a little bit nervy and anxious sometimes in certain situations.

"It's only natural to question the situation we are getting ourselves in.

"But they have stuck by us the whole way."
