Russian pundit Guberniev: Don't feel sorry for Abramovich after losing Chelsea

Russian pundit Dmitry Guberniev insists there shouldn't be sympathy for Roman Abramovich with the sale of Chelsea in it's final stretch.

Chelsea announced this morning that the offer from Todd Boehly's consortium had been accepted.

Guberniev told Sport-Express: "After the loans-for-shares auctions in the 90s, when some people got the wealth of the Soviet Union, don't make me feel sorry for Abramovich!

"Humanly, of course, it is a pity. His brainchild was taken from him, it is not easy for him now.

"But Roman Abramovich is not the person who needs to be pitied and mourned now. Even now he is not under sanctions, he feels quite free. He does not need to be called poor and sorry.

"Abramovich got the wealth of our country for next to nothing, like all the other beautiful billionaires. My heart won't melt here. Be patient, Roman Arkadyevich, everything will be fine!"
