Bayern Munich powerbroker Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed they're trying to sign Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane.

With new contract talks having fallen through, City are now prepared to sell the Germany international.

And honorary Bayern president Rummenigge told Die Welt: "That's right, we will try to recruit him, but I cannot promise if we will succeed.

"We had already thought of signing him when he was at Schalke.

"But at the time, we had no place to guarantee for him, because (Franck) Ribery and (Arjen) Robben were still at their peak three years ago."
