Arsenal legend Thierry Henry faces competition for the Aston Villa job.
While the Belgium assistant coach is the favourite for the post, Sky Sports says Villa aren't short of quality alternatives.
Former Manchester United No2 Rui Faria and ex-Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov have also applied for the position.
Another name raised is Henry's boss, Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, who has past Premier League experience with Wigan Athletic and Everton.
However for now, Henry is the man Villa's owners favour.
