Rudiger pushing Chelsea to let him join Tottenham

Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger wants to join Tottenham before Monday's deadline.

The German international was banished from the squad for a fifth game in a row for the win against Crystal Palace with his future at Stamford Bridge hanging by a thread.

The Athletic reports Rudiger's preference is to join Spurs amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona and clubs in Germany.

Tottenham have held talks with Inter Milan for Milan Skriniar but he looks set to stay in Italy.

That could see Tottenham turn attentions to Rudiger but the consensus amongst the Chelsea board is that they do not want to let him join a direct rival.

Not only that but there remains tension between the two clubs as seen during manager Frank Lampard's touchline spat with Jose Mourinho during Tuesday's Carabao Cup clash.
