Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger has no problems with increased competition after the club's summer spending.
Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have all been added to manager Frank Lampard's squad.
And Rudiger is welcoming the competition for places it will bring and motivation for players to make sure they can perform at their best every day.
He told the club's website: "For every coach in the world it's good if they have lots of options and as a player that means you have to perform, because you can be replaced for another good player. So it's good for the coach, it's good for everyone, for each individual.
"The thing is you just have to look at it on paper and you know that there is a lot of competition here, not only this year but also last season. That is how football is and this is what it's all about, to fight for your place, and that's very good."
