Wayne Rooney insists he is not listening to constant negativity regarding his career.
The Manchester United captain has been the subject of a great deal of press of late having produced a number of below par performances for the Red Devils.
But Rooney is not reading into any of the reports as he has found that over the course of his career, the main thing to do is to ignore the press and simply work hard in a bid to produce the best he possibly can for his team.
"I think I've had that my whole career - a little bit more of late, I think, but that's football," Rooney told MUTV.
"I listen to my coaches and my team-mates, the people around me, and I don't really listen to what a lot of people out there are saying because a lot of it is rubbish.
"I have to focus, work hard, of course, and I've done that throughout my career. I've worked hard and tried to do my best for the team."
