Rotherham United boss Ronnie Moore would welcome a new deal for Blackburn Rovers defender Gavin Gunning.

Gunning, aged 19, made 23 appearances for Moore's side as they marched to the League Two play-off final, playing 90 minutes of their 3-2 defeat to Dagenham and Redbridge.

"The door is always open for a loan signing, and I will have no hesitation in exploiting the loan market if I have to" Moore told the Sheffield Star. "Gavin did well here and we're interested in bringing him back. But the ball is in Blackburn's court; they want their squad together for pre-season, and there's not really much more we can do until around August."
