Former Manchester United star Giuseppe Rossi only has good things to say about Sir Alex Ferguson.

Rossi, who was one of the most exciting players to emerge from the club's academy at one point, remembers the good times with the Old Trafford club.

Despite his career being cut short due to injuries, the 32-year-old free agent had a chance to play for top clubs around Europe. His career took him to Villarreal and Fiorentina after United.

"It's hard to compare Sir Alex Ferguson to anyone," Rossi told La Liga.

"He was very unique in the way that he is able to protect his players off the field, he treats you as if you're his own kid. He protects you. He is someone that really cares for his players.

"On the field he makes his voice heard if he doesn't like what he sees. It was a pleasure for me and I'm sure it was a pleasure for all the players that were under him to have him on your side."
