Everton ace Ross Barkley was delighted to be captain for their EFL Cup win over Yeovil.

Barkley was handed the captain's armband by manager Ronald Koeman.

"The gaffer knows how much Everton means to me and what it means to the fans to see a local lad lead out the side," he told the Daily Mail.

"It's a good sign from the manager. He must have seen something in me to let me lead out the side. It was a privilege to do that."
