Rosella Sensi leaves Roma board

Rosella Sensi has quit the AS Roma board - to end her family's association with the club.

American investor Thomas Di Benedetto and his colleagues have bought out the club, although the official paperwork will not go through for another couple of weeks.

Rosella Sensi took over the Presidency when her father, Franco, passed away in 2008.

"My first thoughts go to my father, who wanted to make Roma great and his results speak for themselves," Rosella said.

"The report that the new stadium is to be named after him is a wonderful dream. We have prepared an innovative project and hope all this hard work wasn't in vain.

"I thank the fans, because they have always been close to me, and wish the new owners every success.

"From now on I'll just focus on motherhood."
