Rooney tells Man Utd boss Mourinho how Pogba can succeed

Manchester United legend and current Everton striker Wayne Rooney believes there is a way for his old club to get the best out of Paul Pogba.

Rooney played with Pogba in his last season at the club, and he believes it will not be too difficult for manager Jose Mourinho to get the best out of the Frenchman.

Pogba was disappointing for United as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in midweek, and he was dropped for the home clash against Huddersfield.

"For me Paul Pogba is a classic box-to-box player. He can do a bit of everything really well," Rooney told Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.

"If he has that freedom where he doesn't have to think too much about his defensive role he can cause mayhem.

"At Juventus he had [Andrea] Pirlo alongside him. With [Nemanja] Matic and another alongside him, on the left of a three in midfield, that will certainly get the best out of him."
