Wayne Rooney is eager to watch Callum Hudson-Odoi to make his England debut against Czech Republic.

The 18-year-old earned his first call-up to the senior squad this past week, despite not having started a Premier League game for the Blues.

Former captain Rooney hopes to see the prodigious talent handed his first cap by Gareth Southgate.

He said: "To be honest I haven't seen that much of him play, which is a shame because from what everyone says he is a huge talent.

"He doesn't seem to be getting a lot of game time at Chelsea at the minute so hopefully with his call-up to the national squad he'll get some game time and there will be a chance to see him.

"It's great to see young players getting the opportunity to play for England and certainly over the last year or so, they've taken that chance."
