Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero says he accepts his position as back-up goalkeeper at Old Trafford.
The Argentine international signed for United in the summer and despite starting the season as number one, has fallen behind David De Gea, who narrowly missed out on a deadline day move to Real Madrid.
De Gea had looked set to be leaving the Red Devils, but after his proposed move to Madrid fell through he is back performing well for United, leaving Romero to look on from the substitutes bench.
Despite his current role, Romero told Argentine newspaper Ole that he doesn't mind that De Gea's introduction to the starling eleven has forced him to watch matches from the bench.
Romero said: "I took the matches when I was given the chance to play, but when De Gea renewed it was obvious he was going back to the team."
"De Gea won the place over the years he was there. The coach talked to me and I understood perfectly."
