AS Roma chief Walter Sabatini is finalising a deal for Australia youth international Daniel de Silva.
Roma are expected to reach agreement with De Silva's A-LeaguePerth Glory over a fee of around €2 million.
De Silva won't complete his move until March 2015, when he turns 18, but Sabatini has moved to wrap up a deal now aware of interest from European rivals.
The midfield schemer was linked with Everton last summer.
