Roma threaten Arsenal transfer plans for Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno

AS Roma are ready to challenge Arsenal for Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The Gunners remain confident of completing a £22million deal for the Bayer Leverkusen stopper, says the Mirror.

But Roma fear they will lose their own No.1 Alisson this summer and have identified Leno as a possible replacement, according to reports from Premium Sport.

Leno had been exciting Arsenal supporters with his social media activity in the past few days, because it seems as though he liked an Instagram post suggesting that he was the top candidate to become Arsenal's new keeper.

Unai Emery wants a keeper with 36-year-old Petr Cech facing a fight for his place while they are likely to sell David Ospina.
