AS Roma midfielder Jeremy Menez is convinced of big things ahead this season.
Menez has been the star of Roma's pre-season, raising expectations ahead of the upcoming campaign.
France's new manager Laurent Blanc has even given him a pre-call-up to his first international squad.
"I am always honoured to receive a pre-call-up," Menez said. "Now we'll see what happens.
"Now I am in full preparation to get my match rhythm back. If the chance arises, I will give everything of myself like I have always done. Blanc's status is super positive for all the French. I think we could have a great relationship.
"A page has been turned. We need to rewrite a book starting with the good base that comes from this change in management. My objective is that of going far with Roma because we have a good team. I would like to play for the national team. Mexes and I have spoken about this.
"I await Blanc's list with impatience. If I'm on it fine, otherwise I'll keep working. There is great competition, something that doesn't frighten me because I know what I'm capable of.
"It's great that Blanc is focusing on youngsters, the most important thing is getting France a good image back."
