Kostas Manolas could leave Roma in the next 24 hours.
The Daily Express says Chelsea have been linked with Manolas since last summer and were thought to be planning an offer for him this month.
And according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma were initially uninterested in selling Manolas.
But pressure is mounting on manager Luciano Spalletti to sell one of his star men so Roma can balance the books.
And Chelsea could have a gap open up in their defence as Branislav Ivanovic edges closer to a move away from the club, with Everton and Zenit St Petersburg interested in the Serbia international.
