Roma make first offer for Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio

Roma have made an opening offer for Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

New Roma coach Jose Mourinho wants to bring the Portugal No1 to Italy this summer and a first bid has been lodged.

Sportitalia via Sport-Express says Roma's offer of €8m has been rejected by Wolves, but they're set to return.

Mourinho is eager to see a new keeper signing made ahead of taking charge of Roma for preseason training. The Portuguese has been leaning on sporting director Tiago Pinto to find him a new keeper, with a focus on the Premier League transfer market.

There's a confidence in Italy that Wolves will be prepared to sell Patricio for €12m.

As such, an improved proposal is now being readied by Roma for Wolves' consideration.

Last season in the Premier League, Patricio played 37 games, keeping ten clean sheets. He moved to Wolves three years ago from Sporting CP and has a contract at Molineux to 2022.
